Motors with run capacitor are two-stage asynchronous motors. Compared to motors with starting capacitor of the same size, they have a power output increased by one step, a good efficiency and a power factor of close to 1. The starting torque of about 0.4 MN is sufficient for most applications, such as fan drives.
